Sustainable Ideas Competition Earth Day 2008 Initiative

In commemoration of Earth Day 2008, in addition to the ridesharing initiative, Ecology and Environment, Inc. is hosting two competitions for high school students in Erie and Niagara Counties.

(The first competition awarded $500 to Orchard Park High School, the school of the winners of the best design for the Earth Day 2008 Initiative logo. Visit Earth Day Logo to learn more about the first competition.)

The second competition will promote overall efforts toward sustainability. We would like to hear your school’s most unique idea for making your school “Green.” For example, what are your ideas for energy efficiency, community cleanup, or recycling within your school? The winning school will receive a $500 prize to be used toward a sustainable effort of your choice. Your idea will also be showcased on The Project Earth Network. Submitted ideas will be judged based upon their overall creativity, practicality, and tangible environmental benefit.  Entries may be submitted using the medium of your choice (e.g. Word document, PowerPoint presentation, Adobe PDF, video).  Ideas must be submitted by April 11, 2008, and the winner will be notified on or before April 22, 2008. Please download and read the attached entry form for more details. The entry form should be signed by the sponsoring teacher and should accompany your submission.
